We now have 5lb coils of natural mostly-transparent, green, and black PLA. PLA is the official build material for RepRap Mendel and works great with Darwin, MakerBot, RapMan, and other compatible 3D printers. It is a bioplastic, meaning it is made from renewable natural resources. It is also biodegradable in commercial compost facilities.

This is Natureworks PLA4042D extruded into 3mm filament. Samples have been tested by various RepRap members and it a wonderful build material. It prints at temperatures around 170C and has minimal warp when cooling. It also looks awesome with LEDs.

The pigments for the color PLA is Poly One OnColor BioColorants.
