Mendel Notes
Current
Motherboard: Arduino Mega with RAMPS board
Stepper Drivers: Pololu A4983
Our first one
Motherboard - Sanguino 1.0 Micro-controller kit and breakout to ease wiring.
Extruder Controller - RepRap Extruder Controller V2.2 handling temperature and EasyDriver v4 driving stepper for now.
Non Core RepRap Parts Used
Serial-USB CuteRF USB2UART
Stepper Drivers - EasyDriver v4
Misc. Notes
-Had to file thickness down on M8 nuts under Z driven pulleys to get clearance between them and workbench.
-Had
a heck of a time getting extruder stepper to turn. Tonok pointed out we
overlooked that the step and dir signals are not sent over rs485, but
shown on wiring diagram to be separate wires. Reading instructions = win
Skeinforge Profile and Alterations
Skeinforge is an excellent slicing program found at http://fabmetheus.crsndoo.com/
Below is a Skeinforge profile that may help you get started. Extract the PLA******.zip file to ~/.skeinforge
/profiles/extrusion/ and alterations*****.zip to ~/.skeinforge/alterations/ after backing up your files. The profiles are named PlasticTypeDateSkeinforgeVs
They are using a 0.5mm nozzle and probably will likely need some adjustment for your bot.

No, I have not posted it to Thingiverse, yet. The files are available on the RepRap wiki RAMPS page at http://reprap.org/wiki/RAMPS#Electronics_Enclosure

I saw that conversation on the IRC and decided then and there to make a note of that. Switching from a Makerbot to the Mendel certainly is confusing (I'm printing out Mendel parts to be sold using my Makerbot and PLA that I bought from here).
